The first Sunday of camp we had the opportunity to go up to my old home. We went to church at Bliss and then my family and I were able to walk through the parsonage. It was kind of surreal. At church, many of the people still see me as the little five year old girl I was when we moved there. They had a hard time reconciling the fact that I was now grown up, married, and had a child of my own. I have always wondered what it would be like if I were to move back up there at any time in my life. After visiting, I have come to this conclusion - I no longer fit there. I still love the people, it still feels like coming home to me, but life has continued for them the same as it has for me. We adjust and change and I am no longer the little girl I once was and they are no longer the same either. It is wonderful to visit, but just as wonderful to come home and realize that this is my place in life for now. It is where God has placed me for this season and that is a wonderful thing.
On a lighter note, it was great to show David the house I grew up in. Everything seemed so much smaller than I remembered it being! The view from the window was still the same beautiful lake. After we looked at the house we took Jacob to the beach for the first time. Here are a few pictures my mom and dad took, since David and I had forgotten to bring the camera.
Playing with the sand - he had it all through his hair by the time we left!He loved the rocks, not sure about the water!
He gradually warmed up to it -
and was fine as long the waves didn't hit his face!Rare family photo op!

Sitting in an even bigger tractor. He loved the tractors - typical boy!
